environment

It is easy to jump onto the 'Environmental' bandwagon, however as a brand, our authenticity is grounded in our daily life. We have beautifully merged our love for nature, the environment and being farmers growing indigenous vegetables to Canada for immigrant communities with our core values at VANHU VAMWE. 


We are living and producing within a circular economy, meaning our materials stay in a continuous loop rather than going to landfill. Our current collections are made out of 100% recycled plastic PET bottles. Each stage of our materials is optimised from production and design right through to delivery. 

 

Reforestation efforts are vital and at VANHU VAMWE we combine this cause  with a social and economic perspective.

VV participates in reforestation activities and through our women for women initiative contribute to  tree planting coupled by educational workshops.  per year to preserve the unique nature of our country and offset our carbon footprint by absorbing 23k tons of CO2 per year. We are fully plastic free, both in our products and in our atelier; everything is biodegradable and compostable except the metal hardware, which can be recycled.

By lowering our carbon emissions and waste, we also reduce costs for our customers.

All of our products adhere to the most recent EU regulations.

Care in design, cultural awareness, and putting people first are at the heart of our work and every decision made. We are constantly seeking new ways to design products that are conceptual investment pieces and can be passed on from generation to generation. Our pieces have also been known to be used as conversational home accessories, highlighting their multi functional uses.  We produce small-batches of limited runs of our handbags, ensuring there is a limited risk of overproduction and waste. Our aim is to uphold transparency in our design framework.
